Hey Blog! On our last day of filming, we wanted to capture the essence of a real homecoming event, and Alyssa's attendance at our school's homecoming provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Alyssa's presence at the school's homecoming was not just about enjoying the event; it was also a crucial part of our music video. The lively atmosphere, flashing lights, and excited crowd perfectly aligned with the song's celebratory tone. We knew this was the ideal backdrop for some of our scenes.

iPhone Filming: Armed with our trusty iPhones, we set out to capture the action. The versatility and quality of modern smartphones allowed us to record high-definition footage seamlessly. Plus, they were discreet, making it easy to blend in with the real homecoming attendees. To capture the essence of Kanye West's success and his references to financial achievements in the song, we used prop money in certain scenes. It was a clever way to illustrate the song's themes without breaking the bank. The prop money added a touch of authenticity and style to our video. The homecoming event was brimming with energy, and our video was no different. We filmed dance sequences, candid moments, and jubilant interactions that mirrored the song's joyous spirit. The enthusiasm of the attendees and the collective excitement created a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere.

As the night progressed, we moved through the crowd, capturing the essence of homecoming and the nostalgia that the song evoked. The contrast between the serene garden scenes from earlier shoots and the exuberance of the homecoming made for a compelling narrative.

The Next Step: Editing: With all the footage in the can, our next challenge was to bring it all together during the editing process. The thought of weaving together various scenes to create a cohesive and visually stunning video was thrilling, but it also required meticulous planning and creativity.

Our journey to create a memorable music video for "Homecoming" was one filled with surprises and unexpected opportunities. As we wrapped up filming on that electrifying night, we couldn't wait to get into the editing room and piece together our vision. The music video was taking shape, and it was a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and the enduring spirit of homecoming

Production Blog - Just getting started!

  Hey bloggers. As of right now, we're trying to figure out what we're going to do and how we'll plan for our music video. We won't have costumes that stand out but most likely an outfit that would match well with the original music video. When it comes to where we might film, our options are either school or scenes to represent a "city". For example, many tall buildings. Places with a lot of people and colors. I do have work and Alyssa usually has to watch my brother after school so it's going to be a bit tricky to find an exact time but we are talking about it and trying to make it work. Eventually, we will find some time that is convenient for both of us. The only "props" that we'd use in a sense would be our phones to record but I'm not so sure that would be considered a prop.
