The Final Task Finish Line

Image
I'm thrilled to share the wonderful journey of our filming process with everyone. It's been incredibly rewarding, filled with moments of joy and excitement. While I may not have been the most skilled cameraperson, I'm proud of the quality of our shots. Using my phone as the main filming tool, I facilitated efficient collaboration by sharing clips in our group chat for editing distribution. This method streamlined our workflow and ensured equal editing responsibilities for everyone. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the freedom to unleash my creativity once we had captured all the essential angles. Experimenting with different camera angles and techniques was both exhilarating and fulfilling. Despite occasional mishaps from my teammates, the ability to retake shots effortlessly contributed to a smooth filming process. Choosing vibrant park and beach settings added a captivating backdrop to our footage. The vivid colors and dynamic scenery further enhanced the...

More editing & showing our friends

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog. Today, I'll be sharing insights into the initial editing phase of our Final Task project. After collecting footage from my group members, I organized it into a single album and imported it into our editing app. Instead of immediately focusing on title design, I first created rough edits to establish a cohesive draft of the Final Task. This involved removing bloopers, low-quality clips, and unnecessary footage. Once the rough draft was complete, I began experimenting with effects. Although I initially faced challenges and had to watch several tutorials, I gradually improved my editing skills. While there's still more editing to do and additional parts to film, I'm committed to continuing to learn and refine my techniques. Despite the initial difficulties, each attempt at using the editing tools brought me closer to mastery. As I became more familiar with the software, I discovered new ways to enhance the footage. The process of refin...

Editing & Capcut Features

Image
Hey bloggers! Welcome back. I have some new information to share with you all. I've been exploring Capcut and familiarizing myself with its features. While I haven't started editing yet, I wanted to delve into the app's capabilities. I've used Capcut for other projects and videos in the past, so I'm familiar with its basic functions. However, I hadn't previously explored all of its options and features. The app's basics are easy to grasp, and I find them more helpful compared to iMovie, which is limited to Apple devices. Capcut offers features that enhance the editing process. One feature I discovered is the video stabilizer, which can correct minor shaking in footage, resulting in smoother, more professional-looking videos. Additionally, I've changed my camera settings to 4k - 60, which complements the stabilizer and improves video quality. Another feature I'll be utilizing is the cinematic mode on my phone's camera, which keeps the main subje...

Lessons Learned!

Hey everyone! We're back with another update, this time taking you behind the scenes of the editing process for our Final Task project. After filming wrapped up on Fort Lauderdale Beach (those summer vibes are coming in strong!), it was time to turn all that footage into something magical. The first step involved gathering all the clips from my amazing group members. We created a shared album to make it easy, and then it was game on! Instead of jumping straight into fancy title cards, I decided to focus on building a solid foundation. Think of it like laying the groundwork for a house – you wouldn't decorate before the walls are up, right? So, I started by creating a rough cut of the entire Final Task. This meant going through all the footage, clip by hilarious clip, and weeding out any bloopers, shaky bits, or anything that just didn't quite fit the flow. Let's just say there were some interesting outtakes that didn't make the final cut! Once I had a clean, cohe...

More ideas in the make!

Hey Bloggers! Welcome back. We've made some progress to share. Sloane, Stella, Noah, Dalilah, and Alyssa planned to visit the park after school to film a few shots for one of the date scenes in our project. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend due to work. They headed to the park's soccer fields and captured clips of Noah and Dalilah playing soccer and enjoying themselves. Noah and Dalilah are a real-life couple, which is why we chose them for this project. Using other people, especially in our age group, might have been more challenging. Personally, I tend to get shy and freeze up when on camera, and Dalilah is also quite shy. So, we tried to make her discomfort less noticeable during filming, resulting in a more natural and unforced performance. Noah is similar in this regard. As Noah and Dalilah goofed around and played soccer, we discreetly recorded them, capturing their spontaneous hugs and giggles. They also filmed additional shots with Sloane and Stella, creating a scene...

Technical Difficulties !

Image
Hey everyone, it's been a while since our last update, and things have definitely been interesting! As you know, Stella, Sloane, and I have been working hard on our project, keeping you in the loop through this group chat. Recently, some of our crew members had scheduling changes due to new jobs or commitments they weren't aware of beforehand. This meant some big adjustments, and unfortunately, a few folks had to step back due to time constraints. Don't worry though, we haven't given up! We're thrilled to welcome Paige Elzea to the team (fingers crossed on her availability confirmation!). Rene Salmeron Reyes and Charlize Moran, who are absolute lifesavers, have also stepped up to fill the vacant spots. They're both working on their own final projects, but were kind enough to lend a hand – huge thanks to them! Because of these changes, we've realized our initial timeframe needs a little tweaking. We're shortening it up and reorganizing how we'll fil...

Obstacles & Difficulties won’t stop us!

Image
Hey bloggers! Welcome back for another update. Our group has been working hard to navigate everyone's schedules. We offered a choice in the group chat, but unfortunately, many members ignored our updates and messages. In response, I sent a text emphasizing our commitment to filming and the need for reliable participants. I also made it clear that if anyone wanted to opt out, they could do so without explanation. This resulted in a few people leaving, including Charlize Moran, Caiden Abbott, and Gabriella Serra. This leaves us with Rene, Mondo, Dalilah, Noah, Alyssa, Sloane, Stella, and myself. While we initially focused on extras, we're now content with our current group. If we do find replacements, we'll update accordingly. We've decided to start recording this weekend since everyone is available. Aside from discussing extras, we've been planning how to clarify the setting and costumes. Filming at the beach might pose challenges due to wind noise, so we're re...

New Ideas!

Image
Hey bloggers! We've got some updates to share today! Yesterday, we found out that Alex Parrish won't be able to film for our movie anymore. His role was supposed to introduce Noah to the friend group in our first scene. I've already informed the group via text and we're currently looking for a replacement. As of now, we don't have anyone lined up, so we might have to improvise and have one of the girls or myself take on the role. I've been clearing up space on my phone because the editing app we're using, "Capcut," needs more storage to process the videos. TikTok has been using up most of the space, so it's taking a while to delete all those videos. We're still using my phone for recording, but if Capcut doesn't work, I'll probably use someone else's phone or iPad for editing. Choosing background music has been challenging due to the numerous options available. Since this is a beach-themed video, we'll be using more upbeat...

Changes to meet Perfection

Image
Hello bloggers! We're back with an update on our actresses and actors.  Alyssa, Stella, Sloane, and I created a group chat a while ago to keep track of our progress and stay in touch. Recently, a few people haven't been responding to our messages or providing clear answers. We've sent out all the details about dates and schedules to find a suitable time for everyone. However, some group members found new jobs or had prior commitments they didn't inform us about. This led to some major changes, and they expressed that they didn't have time to continue filming. Despite this, we managed to work around the issue by replacing those individuals. Paige Elzea, a friend of ours, offered to step in, but we're still waiting for confirmation on her availability. Elton Angulo and Riley Scales have been replaced by Rene Salmeron Reyes and Charlize Moran, who assured us they have the time. Even though they're working on their own final task projects, they kindly agreed t...

We are thrilled to share our journey as we bring this story to life! "Summer Romance" follows a girl who meets a guy in her friend group at the beginning of summer vacation, leading to a budding romance that is tested when he unexpectedly leaves by the end of summer. Our film will be set in two main locations: the beach and downtown, chosen for their scenic beauty and vibrant atmosphere. To capture the magic of "Summer Romance," we will be using the iPhone 14 Pro for filming. Aligning everyone's schedules has been challenging, as we all have work or extracurricular activities, but we are dedicated to finding the perfect filming days.
