Decision Blog

Image
Hi there, and happy return! I will thus discuss my group's final decision about the genre we will use for this final project in today's blog. We'll be covering Romantic Comedy. There will be some drama, though. After seeing my music video, we decided that we could move forward with it. I can't wait to start shooting. Several of our other close friends will be joining us, so it will be enjoyable. I will thus contact you shortly with an update!

Genre Research: Drama

Image
Hi there, and happy to be back on the blog. I'm going to talk to you about the drama genre today. In drama films, Birds-Eye View—which is a view from above the subject—is most useful for isolating the subject and producing a dramatic impact. Worm's View, often referred to as Low Angle, is an image captured looking up at a scene from below the subject.  Here's another: Dutch Angle/Tilt. This camera perspective may evoke a range of emotions and is typically used to create a dramatic effect inside a film. The Dutch viewpoint may intensify psychological suffering and anxiety, resulting in a suspenseful and thrilling movie environment. Drama may be addicting and give some individuals a feeling of creativity and life. Drama has the ability to produce endorphins, which are well-known analgesics. It may be enjoyable as well, much like having a drug addiction.  Stories with lots of tension and high stakes are what define drama. Not just any conflict, but one that advances a story...

Genre Research: Adventure

Hi there, blog. I'm going to talk to you about adventure movies today. Two popular angles and photos are pan and tilt. These are the basics, but you can use them for additional aerial, crane, and dolly shots as well. Adventure filmmakers today often use hand-held shots. Three-point lighting is the most used kind of lighting and is a prevalent method in visual media.  With three separate positions, the cameraman may control the shadows cast by direct lighting and angle the subject wherever they see fit. Adventure movie themes are something I like to watch. It takes us on a journey to discover who we really are. Adventures started off in literature, but as soon as the media became available, they swiftly spread to cinema and television.  An adventure film revolves around the journeys and adventures of the protagonist. Retrieving a person or treasure can be the aim of the conquest, but more often than not, the primary objective is just to explore the unknown. These movies u...

Genre Research: Horror

Image
Hi there, blog welcome back! I want to talk to you about horror films today. The holy trinity of shots—POV, handheld, and Dutch angle—are used in most horror movies, albeit they have a range of perspectives. Point of View is shortened to POV. It can be recorded from the viewpoint of the victim or the killer/creature. For example, a handheld shot aids in conveying the notion during a dramatic action sequence or pursuit. The Off Kilter Shot is the most often used shot in horror movies. A bullet strikes the Killer in the shoulder. A better inspection of the weapon. A close-up or severe close-up of fear. A 360-degree view conveys a sense of isolation and terror. A high-angle picture is used to illustrate the vulnerability of the victims. Low-angle view to show that the murderer is capable of stabbing someone without hurting them. An other common transition, especially in horror movies, is the fade to black. It is typically used at the opening of a trailer to help with the gradual narr...

Pitch Blog

Image
Hey bloggers! Welcome back! We've been brainstorming on our ideas for our film. These have been our 2 pitch ideas: First Pitch: Comedy was put on the table. Since we'll have other people who are going to help create this video, we thought Gabi getting fired from Publix and planning a plot for revenge would be great. Second Pitch: A girl from a friend group gets broken up with. She felt as if she lost herself and traveled to take care of herself and improve. For the first pitch, I'm not too excited mainly because I think it would be harder to film. Gabi might quit Publix so it might be difficult when she doesn't have a uniform. She has worked there for almost a year now which could be beneficial since she's known and her coworkers would allow us to film. We would have to ask now because we do not want to be late when asking permission to film on the property. Other than that, if we did comedy I feel like we'd have to talk to the people we want to include so tha...

Introduction Blog

Introduction Blog Hey blog i’m back! I am here returning to complete my Final Task. I am about to be turning 17 years old in about two weeks; my birthday is September 19, 2006, which makes my Zodiac sign a Virgo! I have a strong love for legos, specifically the architectural sets. So far I have built the Guggenheim Museum, The Pyramid of Giza, and the United States White House out of Legos. I also love my hair, and I am almost always listening to music. My favorite genres of music is Rap and R&B but to be more specific, I enjoy Trap music which is a subcategory that falls into rap and R&B music which was generated in Atlanta Georgia; therefore, I mainly listen to artists such as Future, Summer Walker, and Bryson Tiller. My family and I are all Jamaican but now we all live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am the youngest out of 4 siblings, I have 2 sisters and a brother. I played volleyball for most of my life up until the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, I fell out of love with the spo...

Group Blog

Image
Hey, there bloggers! Welcome back! This project is based on our final task and I've decided to work with Alyssa, Sloane, and Stella. They are  great with brainstorming ideas and timing. She has great leadership skills but she isn't against new ideas or change like other people I have worked with in the past. We're planning on asking more people to join our group but we haven't had the time to figure it out. Tomorrow we are going to sit down in class and plan everything out. We have to pick our genre out and watch videos for inspiration. I need to find out all the rules and what limits we have. It's already been decided that I'm the key editor from now on. Personally, I've had so much fun editing the videos from the past assignments. For this project, we're learning from the past videos and taking more time to edit. We do not want this to seem rushed or sloppy. our last video wasn't sloppy but it wasn't as nice as I wished. I thought a good id...
